     the personality       lady d' aubney was raised the way a daughter of her standing ought to be, leaving her resigned, observant and as quick as a whip. While she is not a lady to shirk propriety, with her younger sisters mostly married off she tends to allow herself more freedom to enjoy what she wants.As the eldest, she takes on a protective stance that carries into many of her social circles. Though vicious in her profession, Charity has a charming social side. She effortlessly glides through high society, the picture of poise at gatherings and events. Her charisma is magnetic, drawing people into her circle. She knows how to use her social influence to her advantage, whether it's gaining information on potential threats or securing lucrative contracts.those who know her more intimately would acquaint her more with a viper. her words bely a cruelty that runs through her core. she will tear apart those around her with her teeth if it means keeping them on her level, no matter how low that might sink to.

Charity is not often seen without a small, leather bound book. While it's always on her person and looks fairly weather worn, it doesn't look...old. The book is likely ancient, but who knows what secrets it actually keeps.rumor has it she sleeps with it tucked beneath her pillow.

     forget me knot     
one particular piece of odd jewelry is a gold plated knot, tied into what was once simple twine. it's well known that she has a habit of pressing her fingers against the cool metal in times of peril.rumor has it the necklace is enchanted...or is a sentimental token from a lover who died in the war.

     dearly departed     
a pair of simple, silver daggers that are not often far from her person. She keeps them sharp, and is known to use them from everything from opening letters to trimming loose threads from her clothes.rumor has it these blades were taken from the body of a heretic, and hold strange properties.

     mother may I     
a simple golden ring that charity always wears on her thumb is, as known to most, a darling little locket. her father says it was commissioned by his late wife not long before her illness claimed her, and holds a miniature portrait.rumor has it the ring is actually meant for powdered poisons and worse.

the history.

charity's father, a baron by birth and gentleman by reputation, deeply grieved her mother when she passed shortly after the girl's first namesday. thankfully her mother's dearest and most darling friend stepped in to give the child a proper mother-figure. it came as no surprise that the two married not long after. surely it was halone's blessing that has stepmother and stepdaughter resembling one another so keenly.within the following cycles the family expanded four times over. the d' aubney house of virtues - patience, temperance, constance and faith - was one well known for their soirees well into charity's tenth cycle. it was at that point, however, the young girl joined in on her birthright: the hunting of heretics. she grew to be very, very good at it.

not all things are to last, however. not long after her younger sister patience's betrothal, the city was turned on its head. with the reformation her family's previous means of income and reputation was all but thrown into witchdrop and they were forced to adapt before they found themselves left behind. patience and constance married well, and began the arduous task of laying much of the blame upon their father's shoulders in the hopes of preserving the reputation of the rest of the sisters. surely they simply needed to be rescued from baron d' aubney's outdated beliefs!for charity, however, such eyes on her back does nothing to sway her path. she continues to purchase and sell information to make her role easier, and uses the connections of her married younger sisters to give excuses for her travels. that she returns with odd trophies means nothing. just a souvenir, of course...

    the forgotten knight      a decent place to warm up after a hunt, there are few here who ask about the bloodstains on her clothes or the bruises around her eye. she has been a frequent face here for turns.    the carline canopy      charity will often take an airship to gridania and relax just outside the canopy. she's never seen here for long, but enough people know she stops in to leave messages here for her to receive.    coerthas      regularly on the hunt, charity is a regular sight in the ruins throughout the countryside. no one is quite sure what she's looking for, but she keeps at it.    location four      tbd!

    you got a bone to pick?    

by the fury, does she ever desire a fight.many of the hunts charity and her family find themselves involved in are quiet affairs, and often culminate in a quiet venture to quieter tombs to pounce when something is otherwise...occupied. this leaves her with a great deal of unspent adrenaline. please don't get in her line of sight when she's itching for an excuse.

    she is not playing dolls    

when her interest is caught, it's caught.although charity doesn't seem to have any interest in climbing the social ladder, she does enjoy being a rung for someone else's momentum and drifting in the wake of whatever scandal she's observed from a front row seat.

    i know those eyes    

a hunt went very badly, once upon a time. Charity received a scar that wraps around her calf to this day.and something. someone survived. she looks for them still.

    have you forgotten     

as a child, charity was comforted in the midst of her prayers by a voice she has yet to put a face to.it's no secret that the eldest of the d' aubney children is deeply faithful to her goddess, and speaks with her often. some of the things she's learned in her prayers have been alarmingly accurate...

    you're okay, you're alright    

very few people beyond charity's family know that she was the one to arrange the marriages of her younger sisters.what else was she to do, however, when their injuries were worse and worse in their line of work?

    the thing i have to be    

who would she be if she were not her father's daughter?charity has often lingered at the edge of a dance floor and allowed herself to wonder just that. she has the education and dowry of any other lady of her standing, and watching life seemingly shift for the better for the rest of her countrymen has had an odd effect on how she views the future...
